The Assistant Instructor course is the first portion of the Instructor Development Course. You will gain additional training and experience as a dive educator. This program will build upon your abilities to organize and supervise dive activities, while concentrating on developing teaching skills.
An Assistant Instructor can:
Teach academic presentations under the indirect
supervision of an Instructor
Evaluate Open Water Diver surface skills under the
indirect supervision of an Instructor
Teach Peak Performance Buoyancy
Teach Project AWARE Specialty Courses
Conduct Discover Scuba experiences |
| What is involved? |
| Formal training in conducting PADI programs
Practical application of classroom lectures
Practical application of pool skills
Practical application of open water skills |
PREREQUISITES:
Open Water Certification or Equivalent
Advanced Open Water Certification or Equivalent
Rescue Diver or Equivalent
Divemaster or Equivalent
Have been a certified diver for at least six (6) months
Minimum 18 years of age
In good physical condition with an approved medical exam
60 logged dives with experience in night, deep and navigation
Emergency First Responder or Equivalent |
